Highly Efficient Silver Catalyst Supported by a Spherical Covalent Organic Framework for the Continuous Reduction of 4-Nitrophenol

Ning Wang et al.

Summary: Developing new materials and novel technologies for the highly efficient treatment of toxic organic pollutants is highly desirable. A method based on a spherical covalent organic framework (SCOF) for catalytic reduction has been designed, showing high catalytic reduction ability towards 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and far superior performance compared to previous reported results.

Template-free synthesis of hybrid silica nanoparticle with functionalized mesostructure for efficient methylene blue removal

Dambarudhar Parida et al.

Summary: A simple one-pot synthesis process was developed to prepare functionalized mesostructured silica nanoparticles (MSNP) with high surface area. The novel MSNP demonstrated excellent adsorption performance for cationic pollutants like methylene blue, and showed easy regeneration and recyclability in acidic medium.

Bimetallic Co/Zn zeolitic imidazolate framework ZIF-67 supported Cu nanoparticles: An excellent catalyst for reduction of synthetic dyes and nitroarenes

Canggih Setya Budi et al.

Summary: In this study, microporous crystalline metal organic frameworks (MOFs) with zeolite-like configurations, ZIF-67 and ZIF-Co/Zn, are used as supports to develop Cu nanoparticles based nanocatalysts. The Cu(x)@ZIF-Co/Zn catalyst exhibits better performances in reducing synthetic dyes and nitroarenes compared to Cu(x)@ZIF-67. The exceptional catalytic activity is attributed to the synergistic role of unique electronic properties, higher surface area of support, appropriate Cu loading, and maintainable micro porous frameworks. Moreover, the catalyst shows excellent stability and recyclability, retaining high conversion after 10 cycles of reuse.

Bimetallic Ag/Cu supported hollow SiO2 sphere drives the efficient hydrogenation of nitroarenes

Dongxiao Sun et al.

Summary: A low-cost and efficient Ag/Cu bimetallic catalyst was designed by supporting nanoparticles on the surface of hollow SiO2 sphere, leading to decreased aggregation of metal nanoparticles. The hollow/porous structure of SiO2 significantly enhanced the diffusion of reactants/products and improved the catalytic activity toward nitroarenes hydrogenation. Additionally, almost quantitative production of corresponding aniline demonstrated practical potential.
