Effect of illumination on fish and amphibian: development, growth, physiological and biochemical processes

Alexander B. Ruchin

Summary: Light factor plays an important role in influencing various aspects of animal life, particularly in the development, growth, and physiology of fish and amphibians. The effects of light exposure are species-specific and can be influenced by multiple factors. Studying the influence of light on the hormonal status and reproduction of fish is a promising research area to explore further.

Juvenile Nile Tilapia Fish Avoid Red Shelters

Caroline Marques Maia et al.

Summary: The study found that there is a high variation in individual preference responses for shelter colors among Nile tilapia, with red shelters clearly being avoided. However, a definitive preference conclusion could not be reached. It is recommended to avoid using red shelters for rearing Nile tilapia and individual variability should be taken into consideration whenever possible.
