Tungsten carbide@graphene nanoflakes: Preparation, characterization and electrochemical activity for capacitive deionization technology

Abdullah M. Al-Enizi et al.

Summary: In this study, tungsten carbide nanoparticles were successfully intercalated between graphene nanoflakes using sonication and hydrothermal treatment, resulting in a series of efficient capacitive deionization electrodes. Among these nanomaterials, WC@GNFs with 10% tungsten carbide exhibited excellent specific capacitance and salt removal efficiency, indicating high electrochemical performance.
