Chiral crystallization of a zinc(II) complex

Shabana Noor et al.

Summary: The zinc compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pna2(1) at 298K, with the Zn atom coordinated by a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal pentadentate Schiff base ligand. The crystal structure reveals interactions through hydrogen bonding and weak supramolecular forces connecting the complex molecules, resulting in the formation of chiral crystals from achiral molecules.
