Redox responsive nanoparticle encapsulating black phosphorus quantum dots for cancer theranostics

Haolin Chen et al.

Summary: The study developed a biodegradable and biocompatible black phosphorus-based nanoagent for cancer diagnosis and therapy. This nanoagent has excellent photothermal properties and drug delivery capacity, serving as a novel therapeutic platform with low dosage and side effects. Both the polymer and BPQD are degradable, indicating this platform is a rare PT-OCT agent that is completely biodegradable.

Preparation of N/S doped carbon dots and their application in nitrite detection

Yafeng Deng et al.

Summary: The blue-green fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) synthesized in this study showed high sensitivity and selectivity for detecting nitrites, with a low detection limit of 0.03 mM in water. The sulfuric acid group and aromatic primary ammonia groups on the surfaces of CDs interacted with nitrites to cause fluorescence quenching, providing a new way of monitoring nitrites in target samples.

A fluorescence-switchable carbon dot for the reversible turn-on sensing of molecular oxygen

Yanmin Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, optical oxygen-sensitive nanoparticles with good biocompatibility and low cost were developed for fast detection of molecular oxygen in a signal turn-on mode. A phenylenediamine-derived carbon dot with fluorescence-switchable property was introduced, serving as a reversible probe for fluorescence turn-on detection of oxygen with short response time and high sensitivity. This study not only offers a convenient and low-cost method for oxygen detection, but also presents potential applications of the fluorescence-switchable carbon dot in various fields involving oxygen detection.
