Wheat 2-Cys peroxiredoxin plays a dual role in chlorophyll biosynthesis and adaptation to high temperature

Divya Mishra et al.

Summary: The study investigates the plant molecular response to high-temperature stress through the analysis of HTS-responsive proteome in the wheat cultivar 'Unnat Halna'. A total of 55 HTS-responsive proteins (HRPs) were identified, with a focus on the 2-cysteine peroxiredoxin (2CP) Ta2CP and its role in stress perception and adaptation. The interaction between Ta2CP and the chlorophyll metabolism enzyme TaPORB was found to be crucial for plant growth and chlorophyll biosynthesis, contributing to high-temperature acclimation.
