Spatial Variance of Species Distribution Predicts the Interspecies Interactions within a Microbial Metacommunity

So-Yeon Jeong et al.

Summary: Interspecies interactions have a significant impact on the spatial distribution of coexisting microbial species. The study found a negative correlation between habitat breadth and various types of interspecies interactions, with this relationship persisting across repetitions. Despite variability in the total interactions, the positive interactions showed similar slope values in the real datasets.
