Polygonogram with isobolographic synergy for three-drug combinations of phenobarbital with second-generation antiepileptic drugs in the tonic-clonic seizure model in mice

Jarogniew J. Luszczki et al.

Summary: This study investigated the three-drug interactions of phenobarbital with lamotrigine, oxcarbazepine, pregabalin, and topiramate in the male albino Swiss mice using the maximal electroshock-induced seizure model. The results showed that all these three-drug mixtures protected the mice from MES-induced seizures and exhibited synergistic interactions, except for one combination which showed additive effects.

Efficacy of adjunctive cenobamate based on number of concomitant antiseizure medications, seizure frequency, and epilepsy duration at baseline: A post-hoc analysis of a randomized clinical study

William E. Rosenfeld et al.

Summary: Adjunctive cenobamate was effective for the treatment of focal-onset seizures, with clinically relevant reductions in seizure frequency and even 100% seizure reductions observed regardless of number of concomitant ASMs, baseline seizure frequency, or disease duration. The greatest reductions were seen in the 200- and 400-mg/day groups.

Perampanel in real-world clinical care of patients with epilepsy: Interim analysis of a phase IV study

James Wheless et al.

Summary: During routine clinical care, favorable retention and sustained efficacy were demonstrated for perampanel in patients with epilepsy for >= 12 months following initiation. Treatment-emergent adverse events occurred in 44.6% of patients, with the most common being dizziness, aggression, and irritability.

Efficacy and safety of adjunctive perampanel in patients with focal seizures or generalized tonic-clonic seizures: Post hoc analysis of Phase II and Phase III double-blind and open-label extension studies in India

Man M. Mehndiratta et al.

Summary: This post hoc analysis examined the efficacy and safety of adjunctive perampanel in Indian patients with focal seizures, with or without other types of seizures. The results suggest that adjunctive perampanel may be a suitable antiseizure medication for patients with various types of seizures in India, with similar outcomes to non-Indian patients.
