S-Layer From Lactobacillus brevis Modulates Antigen-Presenting Cell Functions via the Mincle-Syk-Card9 Axis

Mariano Prado Acosta et al.

Summary: This study identified Mincle as a receptor for Lactobacillus brevis, modulating BMDCs functions by interacting with the S-layer. Mincle(-/-) BMDCs failed to maintain cytokine balance, leading to increased pro-inflammatory cytokines production and decreased anti-inflammatory cytokines production. The Mincle/Syk/Card9 axis in APCs is crucial in host-microbiota interactions.
