Development of a ternerry condunting composite (PPy/Au/CNT@Fe3O4) immobilized FRT/GOD bioanode for glucose/oxygen biofuel cell applications

Ruma Perveen et al.

Summary: Enzymatic biofuel cells (EBFCs) are a promising technology for portable energy sources, with electrode materials playing a crucial role in research. A new nanocomposite platform has been developed for immobilizing glucose oxidase (GOD), improving enzyme bioelectrocatalysis for glucose oxidation. The composite shows promising results in enhancing electrode surface area and facilitating electron transfer between enzymes and electrode, making it a potential material for developing improved electrochemical biosensors and biofuel cell anodes.

Nanomaterials based biofuel cells: A review

Abhilasha Mishra et al.

Summary: Biofuel cells (BFCs) utilize metabolic reactions in microorganisms to transform the chemical energy of organic matter into electrical energy, but face challenges such as short life-time and low-power density. The use of nano materials is a key strategy to enhance the efficiency of BFCs, improving electron transfer and current output through various nanostructures. Different metallic nanomaterials, inorganic nanomaterials, conducting polymer-based nanomaterials, and carbon-based nano materials are utilized to construct electrodes and membranes for better performance of BFCs.
