Electrical charge storage effect in carbon based polymer composite for long-term performance enhancement of the triboelectric nanogenerator

Jun Hyuk Choi et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effect of charge storage ability on the long-term output performance of the triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) using a PDMS-based carbon black composite as the contact layer. Results show that using the composite with optimal carbon black content can significantly increase the long-term output performance of the TENG by more than two times. Additionally, a rationally designed power transmission unit based on scotch yoke mechanism is applied to effectively operate the TENG with high number of contact/separation cycles, demonstrating the potential for enhancing the long-term output performance of the TENG.
