Coordinated frequency regulation among asynchronous AC grids with an MTDC system

Summary: A coordinated frequency regulation scheme is proposed in this paper, which enables spinning reserves sharing without communication, in order to enhance the power system's inertia. The scheme can increase not only the frequency nadir but also reduce the coupling effect among AC grids, ensuring system stability under disturbances.

A Station-Hybrid HVDC System Structure and Control Strategies for Cross-Seam Power Transmission

Summary: The study presents a station-hybrid system scheme for cross-seam interconnections, combining the advantages of line commutated converter (LCC) and voltage source converter (VSC) technologies to enable reliable and flexible bidirectional power flows. Control strategies focus on power flow reversal under normal conditions and emergency power support control under emergency conditions. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed system and control strategies are verified through simulations in PSCAD/EMTDC.
