Single-Molecule Super-Resolution Imaging of T-Cell Plasma Membrane CD4 Redistribution upon HIV-1 Binding

Yue Yuan et al.

Summary: The binding of HIV-1 to CD4(+) T cells was found to trigger changes in the nanoscale organization of CD4 molecules on the cell surface, leading to an increase in cluster diameter and molecule number. These findings provide a quantitative insight into the nanoscale CD4 reorganization induced by HIV-1 and suggest potential implications for characterizing plasma membrane receptor organization in general.

Picosecond time-resolved photon antibunching measures nanoscale exciton motion and the true number of chromophores

Gordon J. Hedley et al.

Summary: The authors present time-resolved photon antibunching to measure the true number of chromophores and exciton diffusion in DNA origami and conjugated polymer aggregates. This method offers a powerful tool for studying excitons at the single-particle level and designing improved excitonic probes and optoelectronic device materials.
