Intrinsic high thermal conductive liquid crystal epoxy film simultaneously combining with excellent intrinsic self-healing performance

Xutong Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, a side chain liquid crystal epoxy based on biphenyl mesomorphic unit was successfully synthesized, and a liquid crystal epoxy film with thermal conductivity and self-healing properties was prepared. The liquid crystal epoxy showed high thermal conductivity, excellent self-healing performance, wide service temperature range, and good thermal stability. It is expected to have wide application prospects in the fields of flexible electronic devices and intelligent structures.

Superior anti-corrosion and self-healing bi-functional polymer composite coatings with polydopamine modified mesoporous silica/graphene oxide

Yanqi Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, graphene oxide and benzotriazole-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles were combined through in situ polymerization of polydopamine to prepare a self-healing bi-functional graphene oxide for enhancing the anti-corrosion properties of waterborne epoxy coatings. The new nanofillers demonstrated significantly improved corrosion resistance and self-healing capabilities for the coatings.

Robust, transparent, and self-healable polyurethane elastomer via dynamic crosslinking of phenol-carbamate bonds

Jin Hu et al.

Summary: A high-strength, colorless transparent self-healing polyurethane elastomer was successfully developed through dynamic crosslinking of reversible phenolcarbamate bonds. The mechanical properties can be tailored by adjusting the crosslink density and hard segment content, while maintaining self-healing efficiency at elevated temperatures. This work provides a feasible strategy to prepare mechanically robust crosslinked polyurethane elastomer with high self-healing efficiency in a cost-effective manner.
