The research paper aims to solve the optimal power flow problem by introducing a hybrid algorithm that addresses multiple objective optimization problems in different scenarios, incorporating a versatile Unified Power Flow Controller device. The results of the study show that the proposed method outperforms existing approaches on a test system.
The key intention of this research paper is to find a solution to the optimal power flow problem (OPF) for four different scenarios, such as minimization of fuel cost, minimization of voltage deviation at the buses, minimization of real power loss and enhancing the voltage stability of the system. An effective hybridized Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) and Backtracking Search optimization Algorithm (BSA) is introduced in this paper to resolve the OPF problem with incorporation of Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC), a versatile FACTS device. The efficacy of the suggested approach is verified using the IEEE 30-bus test system. Finally, results of this hybrid method are superior to those accessible in the literature.
