Temporal variability of the physical and chemical environment, chlorophyll and diatom biomass in the euphotic zone of the Beagle Channel (Argentina): Evidence of nutrient limitation

Clara M. Iachetti et al.

Summary: This study examined the spatial and temporal variation of hydrographic and meteorological conditions, total chlorophyll concentration and diatom biomass at three sites within the Argentine sector of the Beagle Channel from 2012 to 2014. The inner and outer sectors of the channel showed similarities in vertical homogeneity and silicate limitation for diatom growth, but differed in salinity, total chlorophyll, and diatom biomass content.
