Thermodynamics, kinetics, gas emissions and artificial neural network modeling of co-pyrolysis of sewage sludge and peanut shell

Haobo Bi et al.

Summary: The study investigated the co-pyrolysis characteristics of sewage sludge and peanut shell under nitrogen atmosphere, using thermogravimetric - Fourier transform infrared spectrometry and artificial neural network. The experiments revealed a synergistic effect between sewage sludge and peanut shell, with shared gases and functional groups. The activation energy E was calculated using two non-isothermal kinetic analysis methods, and the best ANN model (ANN21) for predicting pyrolysis was identified.

Effect of protic ionic liquid treatment on the pyrolysis products of lignin extracted from oil palm biomass

Tazien Rashid et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the use of aprotic ionic liquid pyridinium formate [PyFor] for lignin extraction from oil palm biomass increases its thermal stability, affecting its carbon content and calorific value. In addition, the [PyFor] extracted lignins contain more phenolic and aromatic compounds, making them suitable for use as biofuels.
