An ERP investigation of the working memory stroop effect

Summary: Results showed that longer reaction times were associated with the incongruent condition compared to the congruent condition, indicating a WM Stroop effect. Additionally, shorter reaction times were observed for the congruent condition compared to the neutral condition, suggesting a WM Stroop facilitation effect. Surprisingly, there was no Stroop interference effect in WM, as reaction times were shorter for the incongruent condition compared to the neutral condition. Additionally, ERP results revealed different neural activity patterns for conflict detection and resolution processes in the WM Stroop paradigm.
