Creld1 regulates myocardial development and function

Vera Beckert et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that Creld1 function in the endocardium is dispensable for heart development in mice, while lack of Creld1 in the myocardium causes extracellular matrix remodeling and trabeculation defects, leading to myocardial hypoplasia and early postnatal death. These findings highlight the central role of Creld1 in mammalian heart development and function.
