Experimental evolution of adaptive divergence under varying degrees of gene flow

Sergio Tusso et al.

Summary: This study using evolve-and-resequence experiments with fission yeast populations subjected to disruptive ecological selection under different levels of migration investigates how gene flow, ancestral variation, and genetic correlations affect the evolution of adaptive divergence. The results show that adaptive divergence is most pronounced in allopatry and sympatry, but significantly reduced in parapatry and local mating. It highlights the complex interactions between gene flow, ancestral variation, and genetic correlations in shaping adaptive trajectories.

Correlational selection in the age of genomics

Summary: Correlational selection operates on combinations of traits, impacting genomic architecture and evolution across various fields. Integrating evolutionary research in different fields through a genomics lens is key in understanding how correlational selection shapes genetic diversity.
