Role of computed tomography in COVID-19

Gianluca Pontone et al.

Summary: COVID-19 has rapidly spread worldwide, primarily causing pneumonia and respiratory distress, but also affecting other organs. This article discusses the role of non-contrast chest CT in diagnosis, follow-up, and prognosis, as well as its application in detecting acute pulmonary embolism and differential diagnosis of myocardial injury.

Priority COVID-19 Vaccination for Patients with Cancer while Vaccine Supply Is Limited

Antoni Ribas et al.

Summary: Patients with cancer, especially those with hematologic malignancies, are considered among the very high-risk groups for priority COVID-19 vaccination due to the confluence of risk factors between cancer and the virus, which may increase exposure and suppress immune responses.

COVID-19 Vaccination-Associated Axillary Adenopathy: Imaging Findings and Follow-Up Recommendations in 23 Women

Shabnam Mortazavi

Summary: This article reports on 23 women with evidence of axillary adenopathy at breast imaging after recent COVID-19 vaccination, with 13% having symptoms, 43% undergoing screening, and 43% undergoing diagnostic imaging for other reasons. Radiologist familiarity and evidence-based guidelines are necessary to prevent unnecessary follow-up imaging and biopsies for reactive adenopathy after COVID-19 vaccination.

18F-FDG-Avid Lymph Nodes After COVID-19 Vaccination on 18F-FDG PET/CT

Gary A. Ulaner et al.

Summary: A 68-year-old man with right cheek melanoma underwent F-18-FDG PET/CT, which showed FDG-avid lymph nodes in the left axilla post COVID-19 vaccination. These nodes were considered reactive to the vaccination. Although uncommon in the past, this finding becomes important with the increasing number of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Hypermetabolic lymphadenopathy following administration of BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 vaccine: incidence assessed by [18F]FDG PET-CT and relevance to study interpretation

Dan Cohen et al.

Summary: The study investigated the incidence of VAHL after BNT162b2 vaccination and its relevance to PET-CT interpretation in oncologic patients. VAHL was found to be more common and with higher intensity following the booster dose of the vaccine. It is recommended to schedule PET-CT scans during time intervals with lower incidence of VAHL to avoid false or equivocal reports in oncology patients.
