Spatiotemporal tradeoffs and synergies in vegetation vitality and poverty transition in rocky desertification area

Sen Zhao et al.

Summary: The study found that vegetation significantly increased in karst NPDC (82.82%) and rocky desertification control counties (78.77%). The hot spots of rural per capita net income shifted from west and north in 2000 to only north in 2015, while cold spots shifted from east and south in 2000 to only south in 2015. The spatiotemporal transition of rural per capita net income was higher in 2000 than in 2015.

Eco-engineering controls vegetation trends in southwest China karst

Xuemei Zhang et al.

Summary: Studies have shown a greening trend in the karst area of Yunnan-Guangxi-Guizhou region since 2000, with eco-engineering playing a significant role in explaining this trend. Different vegetation trends in various areas are influenced by a combination of factors, emphasizing the importance of understanding these patterns in planning ecological restoration efforts, which can be applied to other restoration areas.
