Concentrating brine for lithium recovery using GO composite pervaporation membranes

Withita Cha-umpong et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the enrichment of lithium from salt lake brine using graphene oxide composite pervaporation membrane, which proved to be more effective in increasing lithium concentration compared to traditional solar evaporation pond, with a smaller footprint. However, economic analysis showed that the technique is not economically sustainable solely for lithium extraction, but becomes competitive with traditional methods when aiming to simultaneously produce deionized water and lithium.
