Designed assembly of Ni/MAX (Ti3AlC2) and porous graphene-based asymmetric electrodes for capacitive deionization of multivalent ions

G. Bharath et al.

Summary: This study investigates the removal of toxic fluoride and heavy metal ions from wastewater using asymmetric capacitive deionization (CDI) electrodes. By utilizing tailored nanoarchitecture, high electrosorption capacity was achieved for monovalent F-, divalent Pb2+, and trivalent As(III) ions, demonstrating successful application in real industrial wastewater and contaminated groundwater treatment. The fabricated Ni/MAX//pRGO electrode shows excellent electrochemical properties for the removal of anionic and cationic metal ions in aqueous solutions.
