Gas-pressurized torrefaction of biomass wastes: Co-gasification of gas-pressurized torrefied biomass with coal

Shan Tong et al.

Summary: The co-gasification of biomass and coal offers a cleaner way of utilizing fossil fuel, with the improved properties of biomass enhancing the syngas quality and synergistic effect during gasification. A novel gas-pressurized torrefaction method effectively upgrades biomass under mild conditions, significantly promoting coal gasification through synergistic effects. The kinetic model RPM was found to be the most fitting for co-gasification, with reduced activation energy and increased CO yield.

In-situ analysis of the effect of CaO/Fe2O3 addition on ash melting and sintering behavior for slagging-type applications

Wenju Shi et al.

Summary: Slagging-type technologies, particularly entrained-flow gasification, have been rapidly developed and industrialized due to their inherent advantages. The use of binary additives of CaO/Fe2O3 is studied to improve ash fusibility, with different ratios affecting the ash fusion behavior and ultimately slag properties. The application of different additive ratios leads to different regimes of ash fusion, influencing the behavior of sintering, swelling, and fusion in high temperature range.

Synergistic effect of the co-pyrolysis of cardboard and polyethylene: A kinetic and thermodynamic study

Yuming Wen et al.

Summary: This study investigates the pyrolysis of cardboard and polyethylene (PE) as well as their co-pyrolysis using thermogravimetric analysis, finding that the co-pyrolysis can promote the decomposition of cardboard and influence the heat absorption and reaction peak of PE. The research deepens the understanding of the synergistic effect of co-pyrolysis of cardboard and PE, supporting the potential application of pyrolysis of MSW.

Reaction process and characteristics for coal char gasification under changed CO2/H2O atmosphere in various reaction stages

Zihang Zhang et al.

Summary: During the operation of industrial gasifier, the concentrations of CO2 and H2O in gasification media vary with the change of stages, affecting the gasification process. Increasing H2O concentration can improve the reaction rate and conversion rate of coal char, especially in the early stage. The shrinking core model fits the gasification process of coal char better in a highly reactive 95% H2O/5% N-2 atmosphere.

Experimental study on high-temperature gasification and melting characteristics of the pyrolysis residue from petrochemical sludge

Junlin Sun et al.

Summary: In this study, the high-temperature gasification and melting properties of pyrolysis residues from petrochemical sludge were experimentally investigated. It was found that PRPS prepared at 650℃ exhibited the best gasification reactivity. Under specific atmosphere conditions, the highest yield of effective gas and high-density slag could be obtained.
