Influence of Hydrogeological Investigation's Accuracy on Technology of Shaft Sinking and Design of Shaft Lining-Case Study from Southern Poland

Kajetan d'Obyrn et al.

Summary: The accuracy of hydrogeological and geotechnical investigation plays a crucial role in the selection of sinking method and design of shaft lining. As the geological data accuracy improves, the requirements for shaft lining also increase, leading to modifications in the technical projects and technology of shaft sinking. Additional methods for reinforcing rock mass around the shaft have become necessary as a result.
