Plastic shed production systems: The migration of heavy metals from soil to vegetables and human health risk assessment

Min Meng et al.

Summary: The Plastic shed production system (PSPS) provides abundant vegetable products for consumption, but there is a risk of heavy metal contamination in the soil and vegetables that requires attention. Risk assessment showed that Cd, Cu, and Zn had high bioavailability and migration risk in soil under plastic sheds, necessitating special attention to Cd contamination in spinach.
