Novel adamantane-pyrazole and hydrazone hybridized: Design, synthesis, cytotoxic evaluation, SAR study and molecular docking simulation as carbonic anhydrase inhibitors

Mohammed M. S. Wassel et al.

Summary: Pyrazole and hydrazone derivatives synthesized from adamantane-1-carbohydrazide as the bioactive core showed promising antitumor activity, with some compounds displaying higher sensitivity and selectivity. Molecular docking simulation revealed low binding affinity within the active site of isoenzyme hCAIX and hCAXII for these derivatives.

One-pot strategy for thiazole tethered 7-ethoxy quinoline hybrids: Synthesis and potential antimicrobial agents as dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) inhibitors with molecular docking study

Yousry A. Ammar et al.

Summary: The study involved synthesis of quinoline-based thiazole analogues for antibiotic class, which showed good antimicrobial activity against standard microbial pathogens and MDR bacterial strains. Active derivatives were effective in treating bacterial infection by inhibiting DHFR enzyme, with molecular docking study supporting the binding mode. DFT calculation generated MEP surfaces to determine interaction regions for different types of interactions.

Development of adamantane scaffold containing 1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives: Design, synthesis, anti-proliferative activity and molecular docking study targeting EGFR

Mohammed M. S. Wassel et al.

Summary: A new series of thiadiazole-adamantane derivatives were synthesized through molecular hybridization approach and evaluated for their in vitro anti-proliferative activity against cancer cell lines and inhibitory activity against various EGFR mutations. Promising compounds showed potential as apoptotic inducers and exhibited strong inhibitory activity towards EGFR, with good binding energy scores in molecular docking studies. Further investigation into their oral bioavailability and pharmacokinetics properties was also conducted in this research.
