Pyrene-porphyrin based ratiometric fluorescent sensor array for discrimination of glycosaminoglycans

Meiting Hou et al.

Summary: A ratiometric sensor array Py-PP was constructed to discriminate GAGs, showing excellent discrimination ability towards Hep, HA, Chs, and DS. The sensor array was effective in both PBS and 5% serum media, and could detect trace GAG contaminants in Hep with 100% accuracy. The Py-PP sensor array proved to be a powerful tool for accurate discrimination of GAGs.

Indicator displacement assays (IDAs): the past, present and future

Adam C. Sedgwick et al.

Summary: Indicator displacement assays (IDAs) offer a unique and innovative approach to molecular sensing, with advantages including low cost, high sensitivity, and high-throughput automation analysis. IDAs can facilitate the detection of a range of biologically/environmentally important species, provide a method for the detection of complex analytes or for the determination and discrimination of unknown sample mixtures. The simplicity and versatility of IDAs have led to their widespread use in molecular sensing, alongside other common approaches such as reaction-based sensors and chemosensors.
