Ten-Year Trajectories of Alcohol Consumption in Older Adult New Zealanders

Agnes Szabo et al.

Summary: Older adults display diverse patterns of alcohol consumption, categorized into five profiles. High-frequency, high-quantity drinking is more common among men, younger participants, and smokers, while moderate-frequency, high-quantity drinkers tend to be in poor health. Frequent or moderate-frequency, low-quantity drinking is associated with better health and economic well-being.
