Structural Landscape of Zn(II) and Cd(II) Coordination Compounds with Two Isomeric Triimidazole Luminophores: Impact of Crystal Packing Patterns on Emission Properties

Ag(I) and Cu(I) cyclic-triimidazole coordination polymers: revealing different deactivation channels for multiple room temperature phosphorescences

Summary: The remarkable emissive properties of cyclic triimidazole (TT) were combined with its versatility in assembling coordination compounds to synthesize a series of Ag(I) coordination polymers with fluorescence and room temperature phosphorescence (RTP). Different origins of phosphorescence were identified based on computational calculations and X-ray crystal structure analysis. Comparisons with isostructural Cu(I) compounds revealed differences in emission efficiency and phosphorescence lifetimes between Ag(I) and Cu(I) compounds.

Regulation of π•••π stacking interactions between triimidazole luminophores and comprehensive emission quenching by coordination to Cu(II)

Summary: Eight Cu(ii) coordination compounds with cyclic triimidazole ligands and its derivatives were reported. These compounds consist of neutral Cu(ii) discrete complexes or coordination polymers comprising luminophore triimidazole molecules and charge-compensated anions. The aggregation-induced emission demonstrated by pure luminophores was nearly quenched in the reported Cu(ii) coordination compounds in the solid state.
