Effects of spring Tibetan Plateau land temperature anomalies on early summer floods/droughts over the monsoon regions of South East Asia

Ismaila Diallo et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that the spring land surface temperature in the Tibetan Plateau has a significant influence on downstream summer droughts and floods in East Asia. The study suggests that considering these temperature anomalies can improve predictions of extreme hydroclimatic events in Southern and Eastern Asia.

Analysis of surface temperature bias over the Tibetan plateau in the CAS FGOALS-f3-L model

Yao Wu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the performance of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' FGOALS-f3-L model in reproducing surface temperatures over the Tibetan Plateau, revealing that while it captures the spatial pattern well, it underestimates the annual mean temperature. Further analysis showed that the surface albedo feedback is a major contributor to the temperature bias.
