Performance of L-Cu&Mn-nZVFe@B nanomaterial on nitrate selective reduction under UV irradiation and persulfate activation in the presence of oxalic acid

Zhen Wang et al.

Summary: A novel nanomaterial was synthesized and applied to selective reduction of nitrate, showing significant improvement in nitrate conversion under UV irradiation and persulfate activation in the presence of oxalic acid. The high nitrate conversion was attributed to the formation of galvanic cells accelerating the generation of electrons. Additionally, the coexistence of Cu2O and MnO2 exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance, leading to high N-2 selectivity and efficient CO2 generation.

Luminescent Cd(II) metal-organic frameworks with anthracene nitrogen-containing organic ligands as novel multifunctional chemosensors for the detection of picric acid, pesticides, and ferric ions

Ming Yue Fan et al.

Summary: Four novel luminescent metal-organic frameworks were successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions, showing porous three-dimensional structures and multifunctional chemosensor capabilities with high sensitivity, selectivity, and good recoverability. The quenching phenomenon observed in fluorescence sensing experiments can be well explained by competitive absorption of excitation energy, electron transfer, and resonance energy transfer mechanisms.

Effect of inorganic anions on the performance of advanced oxidation processes for degradation of organic contaminants

Jianlong Wang et al.

Summary: Inorganic anions such as chloride, carbonate, phosphate, sulfate, and nitrate have a significant impact on the performance of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs). This influence is not solely attributed to their quenching effect, but also affects reactive species, oxidant stability, catalyst activity, and degradation products. Understanding the comprehensive evaluation of the effect of inorganic anions on AOPs is crucial for optimizing the treatment of organic pollutants.
