A bifunctional optical probe based on ESIPT-triggered disalicylaldehyde with ratiometric detection of iron and copper ions

Summary: This paper presents the design and synthesis of an N-linked disalicylaldehyde H(2)Q(j1) for sensing heavy metal ions. The ESIPT state of H(2)Q(j1) is rapidly destroyed by Fe(III) and Cu(II), leading to turn-off fluormetric and colorimetric responses. The sensing systems H(2)Q(j1)-Fe(III) and H(2)Q(j1)-Cu(II) exhibit ratiometric behavior with low LOD values.

Summary: A multi-enzyme cascade system-based hydrogel kit integrated with a smartphone detector was proposed for in-field screening of pesticide, achieving accurate and sensitive detection within 65 minutes. The results obtained were consistent with those of traditional laboratory microplate reader, demonstrating high reliability and ease of operation for real-time measurement of pesticide.
