Bioactivity assays, chemical characterization, ADMET predictions and network analysis of Khaya senegalensis A. Juss (Meliaceae) extracts

Maria de la Luz Cadiz-Gurrea et al.

Summary: The study showed that Khaya senegalensis is a potent source of bioactive compounds, with different extraction methods affecting its chemical profiles and biological activities. The leaf extracts were rich in flavonoids, while the stem barks extracts had high total phenolic, phenolic acid, and flavanol contents. All extracts exhibited remarkable antioxidant activities, with MAC-Water leaf extract being the most active. The bioinformatics analysis revealed potential pharmacokinetics and protein targets related to the pharmacological effects of selected limonoids in K. senegalensis.
