Crystalline, uniform LaPO4 nanorods with a hexagonal structure were successfully synthesized using a simple wet-chemical method. The Ce3+-Tb3+ co-doped LaPO4 nanorods exhibited strong green emission at 545 nm under UV irradiation due to resonance energy transfer. Optimizing the Tb3+ dopant further enhanced the photoluminescence properties of these nanorods for various display applications.
A simple wet-chemical method yielded crystalline, uniform LaPO4 nanorods with a hexagonal structure. HR-TEM imaging revealed the formation of LaPO4 nanorods with an aspect ratio of 27:1. The results of Le Bail refinement and Raman analysis suggested high sample purity. Under UV irradiation, the Ce3+-Tb3+ co-doped LaPO4 nanorods exhibited strong green emission at 545 nm owing to the resonance energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+. The photoluminescence of these nanorods was further strengthened by optimizing the Tb3+ dopant to achieve various display applicability.
