Understanding the effect of H2S on the capture of CO2 using K-doped Li4SiO4 sorbent

Long Ma et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of H2S on the adsorption of CO2 using Li4SiO4, finding that the presence of H2S significantly reduces the capture capacity of Li4SiO4, with higher concentrations exacerbating the issue. Additionally, the negative impact of H2S was found to be strongly correlated to the reaction temperature.

Ab initio study of helium in Li4SiO4 crystals: Electronic properties, migration, and vacancy capture mechanism

Ruijie Zhang et al.

Summary: Li4SiO4 crystal is a candidate material for tritium breeder material, where vacancy defects and He atoms are produced after neutron irradiation. The interaction mechanism between vacancy and He atom was studied using density functional theory, showing that the local stable sites of He atoms are related to the surrounding charge distribution, and V-O(2+) and V-Li(0) can capture interstitial He atoms to increase nucleation centers.
