Isolation and rheological characterization of cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) produced by microfluidic homogenization, ball-milling, grinding and refining

Jinsong Zeng et al.

Summary: This study investigated and compared the morphology and rheology of cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) prepared by various mechanical treatment methods. The results showed that CNFs produced by different methods had distinct properties, with RM-CNFs exhibiting superior viscosity and modulus. Overall, the high aspect ratio CNFs showed better rheological performance.
