FOXO3 is targeted by miR-223-3p and promotes osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells by enhancing autophagy

Cheng Long et al.

Summary: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have potential in regenerative medicine, with miRNAs playing a role in osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow MSCs (BM-MSCs). FOXO3 and ALP levels increase with osteogenic differentiation in BM-MSCs. FOXO3 upregulation enhances levels of osteogenic factors by increasing autophagy-related factors, and miR-223-3p targets FOXO3 to promote osteogenic differentiation by enhancing autophagy in BM-MSCs.
