In-Plane Shear Behavior of Stone Masonry Panels Strengthened through Grout Injection and Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Matrices

Francesca Ferretti et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the improvement in shear behavior of stone masonry elements through different strengthening procedures. Experimental testing and non-destructive sonic tests were used to determine the efficiency of the grout injection, showing a good correlation with the shear capacity of the retrofitted samples. The presence of reinforcing fibers mainly influenced the post-peak behavior and resulted in a more ductile failure mode.
