Modeling the similarity and the potential of toluene and moisture buffering capacities of hemp concrete on IAQ and thermal comfort

Anh Dung Tran Le et al.

Summary: The study highlights the relationship between water vapor and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) in porous building materials, establishing a clear similarity in transport and storage coefficients. A coupled hygric-pollutant (VOC) model is presented for simulating VOC and hygric behavior of building materials, validated and applied to study the impact of toluene and moisture buffering capacities in hemp concrete walls on indoor conditions. The numerical model is useful for building design optimization and estimating indoor pollution and hygrothermal conditions rapidly.

Parametric and sensitivity analysis of a PCM-integrated wall for optimal thermal load modulation in lightweight buildings

Ravi Anant Kishore et al.

Summary: The study conducts a parametric and sensitivity analysis on PCM-integrated lightweight building walls, examining the effects of various PCM parameters on thermal load modulation and wall-related heat gains. The optimized PCM proposed in the study can significantly reduce wall-related heat gain without compromising occupants' thermal comfort.
