Lifestyle Intervention With or Without Lay Volunteers to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes in People With Impaired Fasting Glucose and/or Nondiabetic Hyperglycemia A Randomized Clinical Trial

Michael Sampson et al.

Summary: The study found that group-based lifestyle interventions reduced the risk of progression to type 2 diabetes in populations with a high-risk glycemic category. Participants in the intervention arms had significantly lower odds of developing type 2 diabetes. However, enhancing the intervention with support from diabetes prevention mentors did not further reduce the risk of diabetes.
