Evaluating the bio-application of biomacromolecule of lignin-carbohydrate complexes (LCC) from wheat straw in bone metabolism via ROS scavenging

Summary: The study demonstrates that LCC-A has higher ROS scavenging ability for inhibiting osteoclast differentiation, while LCC-B promotes osteoblast differentiation through the antioxidant pathway, particularly in an inflammatory environment. Therapeutic administration of both LCC-A and LCC-B shows positive effects in regulating bone metabolism and preventing calvaria impairment.

Summary: This study utilized furoic acid as a catalyst to pretreat sugarcane bagasse, recovering xylooligosaccharides from hemicellulose and enhancing subsequent cellulose saccharification. By shortening reaction time and utilizing the recyclability of furoic acid, high yields of xylooligosaccharides and glucose were achieved from sugarcane bagasse.
