Theoretical insights into chiral PMAADs coordinated with Am(III)/Eu(III) and separation selectivity enhanced by chiral-at Am(III)/Eu(III) complexes

Yang Xiao et al.

Summary: In this study, the separation selectivity of a new chiral extractant towards minor actinides was investigated using all-electron DKH2-DFT calculations. The results showed that the structures of ligands and the position of nitrate ions in the complexes played crucial roles in affecting the separation efficiency. Additionally, the preorganization level of ligands was quantitatively determined, providing further insights into the selectivity of the extractant towards minor actinides.

Emerging green solvents and their applications during pesticide analysis in food and environmental samples

Herbert Musarurwa et al.

Summary: This paper critically reviews the application of various green solvents, including ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents, supramolecular solvents, and switchable solvents, during pesticide pre-concentration processes. These green solvents help reduce secondary pollution, enhance environmental performance, and provide new solutions for pesticide analysis.

Orderly Porous Covalent Organic Frameworks-based Materials: Superior Adsorbents for Pollutants Removal from Aqueous Solutions

Xiaolu Liu et al.

Summary: COFs are crystalline porous polymers known for their chemical stability and porosity, making them promising materials for removing toxic heavy metal ions, radionuclides, and organic pollutants efficiently. Various interaction mechanisms between pollutants and COF materials, as well as the adsorption properties of COF-based materials compared to other adsorbents, have been studied and summarized.
