New system design for the cultivation of extractive species at exposed sites-Part 1: System design, deployment and first response to high-energy environments

Kevin G. Heasman et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the system analysis of new cultivation technology for exposed bivalve farming, including the technical feasibility of the new construction called Shellfish Tower, development stages, and deployment at sea. Experimental results show that the new design can survive in harsh sea conditions and provide optimal growth conditions for oysters and mussels.
