Summary: In this study, ten strains of Limosilactobacillus reuteri were isolated from intestinal or faecal samples of rodents, pheasant and primate. Five new species and six subspecies within L. reuteri were proposed based on genomic, chemotaxonomic, and morphological analyses, along with core genome phylogeny and experimental evidence of host adaptation.
