Major routes in the photocatalytic methane conversion into chemicals and fuels under mild conditions

Di Hu et al.

Summary: This review explores low temperature methane photocatalytic conversion routes and finds that methane oxidation and reforming have high conversion rates, while methane coupling shows high selectivity. The most promising route may be methane oxidation to methanol, with higher productivity and selectivity. Further advancements in methane conversion can be achieved through the development of new materials, photoreactors, and operating modes combining photocatalysis with electrocatalysis.

Optimisation of bimetallic Co-Ni supported catalysts for oxidation of methane in natural gas vehicles

Andoni Choya et al.

Summary: The study focuses on supported bimetallic Co-Ni catalysts for methane oxidation, showing that simultaneous incorporation of nickel and cobalt enhances redox properties and increases active lattice oxygen species, leading to improved reaction rates. The most active catalyst exhibited stability during prolonged operation but irreversible deactivation in the presence of water vapor.

Direct oxidation of methane to oxygenates on supported single Cu atom catalyst

Xuan Tang et al.

Summary: Cu-1/ZSM-5 single atom catalyst shows high activity and selectivity in direct CH4 oxidation, with each isolated Cu atom stabilized by four O moieties on the ZSM-5 support forming a uniform Cu-1-O-4 entity as the active site.
