Oocyte ability to repair sperm DNA fragmentation: the impact of maternal age on intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcomes

Amanda Souza Setti et al.

Summary: The study found that the impact of sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF) on clinical outcomes of assisted reproductive technology was not significant for patients under 36 years old and between 37-40 years old. However, for mothers over 40 years old, high SDF index sperm resulted in poorer embryo quality, leading to lower implantation and pregnancy rates and increased miscarriage rates.
