Preparation of MOF Film/Aerogel Composite Catalysts via Substrate-Seeding Secondary-Growth for the Oxygen Evolution Reaction and CO2 Cycloaddition

Xiao-Jue Bai et al.

Summary: A novel substrate-seeding secondary-growth strategy was developed to prepare composite films of uniform MOFs on aerogel walls, resulting in hierarchical MOFs/aerogel composites with outstanding catalytic activity and stability in both liquid-phase CO2 cycloaddition and electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction processes.

Induction of Chirality in a Metal-Organic Framework Built from Achiral Precursors

Dong Wu et al.

Summary: The study successfully induced chirality in a metal-organic framework built from achiral precursors, with the chiral generation process controlled by the amount of pyridine and temperature. The targeted modification of pyridine selectively leads to controlled chiral orientation and distribution of the bulk samples of the framework.

Highly Stable Zr(IV)-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks for Chiral Separation in Reversed-Phase Liquid Chromatography

Hong Jiang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that highly stable Zr-based MOFs can be efficient CSPs for RP-HPLC. By designing and synthesizing three chiral porous Zr(IV)-MOFs with chiral crown ether moieties aligned within framework channels, they show excellent tolerance to water, acid, and base. Under acidic eluent conditions, Zr-MOF-packed HPLC columns provide high resolution, selectivity, and durability for the separation of various racemates.
