DaDIA: Hybridizing Data-Dependent and Data-Independent Acquisition Modes for Generating High-Quality Metabolomic Data

Jian Guo et al.

Summary: A novel metabolomic data acquisition workflow, named data-dependent-assisted data-independent acquisition (DaDIA), that combines DDA and DIA analyses was proposed to achieve better data quality in LC-MS-based metabolomics. Computational program DaDIA.R was developed to process heterogeneous DDA and DIA data for streamlined metabolite annotation. The DaDIA workflow demonstrated significantly improved data quality compared to conventional DDA or DIA metabolomics, with increased number of detected features and annotated metabolites.

No Endospore Formation Confirmed in Members of the Phylum Proteobacteria

Polina Beskrovnaya et al.

Summary: Endospore formation was not confirmed in Rhodobacter johrii and Serratia marcescens, with phase-bright structures identified as triacylglycerol storage granules and cellular debris aggregates, respectively. This study concludes that endospore formation remains exclusive to the phylum Firmicutes.
